58 Kms from Bangalore via magadi Road is Savanadurga. Its a hill of huge fort which was the hideout of Kempe Gowda. There are Temples dedicated to LaksmiNarasimhaswamy & Veerabhadraswamy. This forest has a massive piece of granite depost. Arkavathi & kanva rivers run through this region enriching the forest with silty soils & sandy loam. There is a wlidlife park aslo present here one can see corcodile, deers, snakes etc in this park.
