  • Iskcon Temple:

Iskcon also known as International Society for Krishna Consciousness is located in Rajajinagar area of Bangalore. Before the construction of the temple this place had a huge mountain full of rocks which was then taken over by this society for the construction of the temple. This temple has been constructed using a combination of both modern and traditional south indian temple architecture. In this temple the statues of Lord Krisha, Narasimha, Srinivasa are adorned. Lakhs of devotees can be seen in the Rath Yatra (a procession which includes a god seated in a chariot) which is held during the month of August or September on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. The temple is one of the beautiful places in Bangalore. The main attraction in the temple are the Multivision Cinema theatre, Vedic Library, a marrige hall called "Dwarakapuri" and a conference hall called "Mathura". The temple management also conducts classes in Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-Gita. One of the most important programmes of the Temple is the "Akshaya Patra" programme in which Lunch is provided to the children of most of the Government Schools. For people visiting to Bangalore, this is a must place to visit.
