This temple is one of the oldest
temples in Bangalore and is situated in the Basavangudi area.
Nandi, the mount of Lord Shiva is worshipped here. It is said
that Kempegowda (founder of Bangalore city) constructed this
temple where the statue of Lord Nandi is carved out of a single
rock and is 15 feet tall and 20 feet long. Every year in the
month of November and December a groundnut fair is held wherein
the farmers offer the first groundnuts to the sacred bull.
This temple is built on the Dravidian style.
