KRS Dam (Krishna Raja Sagar Dam) was built
in 1924, this dam is India's first of its kind built for irrigation
Purpose later which now turned for multipurpose use. This
dam was designed and constructed under guidance of engineer
Sir M.Vishweswariah the then chief engineer of mysore. The
dam is named after the then maharaja of myosre, who financed
for the project. This dam is over 3 Kms Long & 124 ft
in height & is constructed in a junction where the three
rivers Kaveri, Hemavati and Lakshmanathirtha meet. Adjacent
to the dam is the beautiful Brindavan Garden With colourful
fountains and ponds. Using advanced lighting techniques the
fountains are made to jump & dance to the tune of the
music played. There is a boating pond to cross the dam from
the south bank to the north bank and at the northern edge
are the dancing fountains. These beautiful place is situated
19 Kms to north west
of Mysore.
Timings : The Garden is open to the Public from 6.30 A.M. to 9.00 P.M
